The Digital Magician brings modern magic to your day, performed with phones, iPads and screens by someone hidden behind a digital mask. It's a little unexpected, which is exactly the point.
Where magic fits in a wedding day
After the ceremony. There's always a gap while the photos are taken, and guests are left standing about with a drink. Roaming close-up tech magic fills it nicely and gets the two sides of the family talking.
During the wedding breakfast. Magic at the tables between courses keeps things moving while the kitchen does its thing.
Into the evening. As evening guests arrive, many of them won't know many people yet. A bit of roaming magic helps them settle in before the first dance.
Why it works at weddings
Weddings bring together people who've never met. Close-up magic gives them a shared moment, and shared moments turn into conversations. Plus your guests will have their phones out all day anyway. They might as well be part of the show.
It photographs well too. Faces at the second something impossible happens make some of the best candid shots of the day, so tell your photographer to keep an eye out.
And it's something you two get to enjoy as well. You'll be pulled in every direction on the day, but a few minutes watching your guests' faces is a lovely little break.
Making it about the two of you
A personal touch could make it extra special. Your names, your date or a favourite photo might turn up somewhere surprising. We'll talk through what's possible when you get in touch. If you'd like something bespoke, the more notice the better. Some couples prefer to keep it a surprise from their guests until the moment it happens, which is half the fun.
A few honest notes
The mask stays on all day. Guests are welcome to photos with The Digital Magician, mask and all, which gives the album something a bit different.
Close-up magic needs nothing from your venue. If you'd like a short stage set in the evening, we'll check there's space and a spot for screens. And if your venue has particular rules about suppliers, just let us know and we'll work with them.
If you've got a wedding coordinator, we're happy to talk timings with them directly. Send over the running order for the day when you have it, even a rough one, and we'll suggest where magic makes the most difference. There are more practical answers on the FAQ page.
What we'll ask you
To check availability and put together a quote, we'll want to know a few things. Don't worry if some of it isn't settled yet:
- Your date and venue
- Roughly how many guests, day and evening
- Which part of the day you'd like magic
- Anything else we should know, from surprises to guests who'd rather sit it out
